The Cross-Country team in 2008 began the season with seven returning runners, Claire Bruntrager, Katie Foster, Melissa Gendron, Lucy Smith, Aria Solar, Maria Vella, and Anna Wattles. To have a recipe for success they needed to mix with their new teammates, Kate Grewe, Kate Kuenzle, Jordyn Lucas, Holly Marx, and Katie Marx.  Mixing took place in the first several meets at Jefferson Barracks and Principia and at the Principia meet on September 18 Anna Wattles foreshadowed her future success by winning the race, but the entire team was outstanding. On October 8 at the Metro Meet the team had multiple medalists including Katie Marx, Kate Kuenzle, Anna Wattles, Katie Foster, Aria Solar, and Melissa Gendron. In the final junior varsity race in the mud and rain Kate Grewe medaled while Holly Marx , Jordyn Lucas, and Lucy Smith all ran their personal bests.  On the road to the state meet at Districts the team finished a strong 6th place and had a state qualifier all-conference performer Anna Wattles with Melissa Gendron very close to qualifying.
